Dog Taxi from London

On Monday 6th we will be doing a rescue transport for three dogs for Precious Poundies from Yorkshire to London.
The Dog Taxi will be available for the return journey at a discounted rate so we can offset the fuel cost for Poundies. If you know anyone who needs dog transport or a courier run north from London late on Monday or early Tuesday, please put them in touch with us.

Dog Training? – or Janet & John

Well Kaiser enjoyed his VPG training today, but I hope the day’s events don’t find their way into a future Janet & John story!

Can Wendy crack the whip? Jason can. See Jason collapse in a heap when Laura has the whip!

And what else happened, John? Well, both Laura and Heather got their puppies out to play.

They were all very disciplined in the obedience and careful with the protection. Everyone was very hot, but no-one peaked too soon when it was their turn for a jump.

Dangerous Dogs etc.

The Government (DEFRA) has announced a consultation on possible changes to the legislation regarding Dangerous Dogs and some wider aspects of dog ownership. There has been a lot of press comment today about compulsory insurance, microchipping, dangerous dogs and “Dog ASBOs” relating to the DEFRA consultation. We outline below how these subjects currently relate to the work of k9cabs.
We encourage our customers to have their dogs microchipped and we use the chip for identification of dogs in transit wherever possible.
We strongly encourage customers to take out comprehensive insurance for their dogs. Sometimes, for older dogs, the cost of medical cover can become very high, but it is worth considering third party cover in case your dog causes an accident or injury.
K9cabs has a very comprehensive insurance policy which covers our third party liabilities for injury or damage caused to others, together with our liability to the animal, covering injury, death, straying etc whilst in our care. If you would like any further details about our insurance cover, we shall be happy to provide you with the information you require.

Please note that we are not able to transport dogs of breeds which are currently banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act.

If you would like to find out more about the DEFRA consultation, go to http://www.defra.gov.uk/corporate/consult/dangerous-dogs/

We hope that, like us, you enjoy the fantastic benefits of responsible dog ownership. Here’s one we love to bits:

Do you believe it?

Waiting outside the butchers today, a lady came up to talk to the dog (it’s always to the dog, never to me!) After saying ‘what a handsome fellow’ (again, the dog!) she offered the following advice: If you touch the tips of the dogs ears, he will calm down and if you fondle the ears for five minutes a day he will be healthier and live longer.
So, what do you think? Could it be true? If so, will it work for me too?!
